The Goal of BHRT

The Science of BHRT

The Art of BHRT

Hormonal imbalances are a common condition that may lead to symptoms including fatigue, confused thinking, aches and pains, weight gain, and sleep difficulties.

Hormone optimization and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) can be an easy way to solve these difficult problems.

Because BHRT has the identical molecular makeup of hormones that the body naturally makes, it differs from synthetic hormones. BHRT is made of naturally occurring sources, including yam or soy plants, which produce molecules of testosterone or estradiol.

BHRT may be used topically using creams or pellets, orally.  BHRT pellets are tiny capsules that resemble rice grains in size. They are injected beneath the skin, where the hormones enter the circulation and disintegrate over many months.

In addition to being a natural method of hormone replacement, BHRT is customized to meet the individual needs, preferences, and lifestyles of each patient.

By using the most effective delivery mechanism for each patient, BHRT enables the body to absorb the appropriate amount of hormones at the appropriate time for optimal processing by the body.

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement therapy refers to compounds that are chemically identical to the hormones produced in the body. These compounds are derived either by natural plant derivatives or synthetically replicated. Both are Bioidentical. We do not use equine (horse) estrogens or progestins. These are not identical to the hormones in the body and may have unintended responses in the body.

Andropause

Andropause (low T syndrome): Men, similar to ladies, experience a reduction in the sex hormones that can prompt changing impacts in the body. A few men sail through this with practically no observable side effects, while other can be impacted enormously. The testicles produce almost 95% of all male testosterone. The balance is supplied by the adrenal glands and they also produce small amounts of estrogen. The brain produces the pituitary hormones follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), which trigger hormone production from the testes. As a man gets older, testosterone levels fall and estrogen levels tend to rise.

The range of symptoms is impressive and can include:

  • Bone Loss

  • Decrease Mental Clarity

  • Decrease Muscle Strength

  • Decrease Stamina

  • Decrease Urine Flow

  • Depression

  • Erectile Dysfunction

  • Hot Flashes

  • Increased Abdominal Fat

  • Increased Urge to Urinate

  • Irritability

  • Low Sex Drive

  • Mood Swings

  • Night Sweats

  • Poor Concentration

  • Sleep Disturbances

Bioidentical Hormone Pellet Implantation

Bioidentical Hormone Pellets are placed under the skin and are specially compounded to release into the body slowly and steadily. On average, hormone pellets are replaced every 3-4 months in women and 5-6 months in men.
